ANU admissions team reclaim their weekends


The missing link

Peak enrolment periods were becoming a challenge for the Australian National University (ANU) admissions team. Given the university’s global reputation for research excellence, the team often worked weekends to get through the vast volume of local and domestic applications.

The solution

ANU Registrar Tim Beckett turned to StudyLink Connect to manage all prospective student applications – direct, agent, domestic and overseas – online. The team estimates that they’ve saved 20 minutes per application, which equates to 9 hours per day or 216 working days since implementation. And going paperless has already avoided 15 tonnes of CO2 emissions. They also spend less time on data entry, creating student records and chasing missing information. Sorting emails and faxes are also a thing of the past.

More than 75% of all ANU’s student applications are received through the online portal. This frees up the admissions team to focus on providing stellar service to prospective students and agents.
